“Without Margaret as my doula, my birth would have been completely different. I'm so grateful for her. I sought out a doula only about 2-3 weeks before I delivered, I just had this feeling in my gut that I needed a little extra support. It was a feeling that was so strong and I knew I needed to explore a doula. I got connected with Margaret and immediately fell in love with her. The way she spoke about women giving birth and how much she believed in my ability made me feel so confident and strong. Once we confirmed working together she explained to me that as my due date nears, she does not drink or leave a certain proximity. She is "on call" and at my service. This 24/7 care is EXACTLY what I needed. Little did I know, that gut feeling I had to get a doula was meant to be... my husband got Covid days before I went into labor. I had a feeling that I would be delivering our baby without him. That was very scary. It confirmed how much I NEEDED Margaret's support. I went into labor in the middle of the night. She quickly replied to my text and was at my house within 8 minutes. She drove my car, got me to the hospital and advocated for me all the way. She brought drinks, snacks and held me through all the events that were unfolding. She had my husband on Facetime and made sure he could witness the birth in some way! Margaret was my true guiding light. Without her I don't know what I would have done. THE MOST IMPORTANT TAKEAWAY: if I had to choose between Margaret or my husband being at my next birth, I would choose Margaret. I say this with the upmost respect and love for my husband. He is wonderful. But if I ever had to choose, it would be her. That is how instrumental she was to helping me through pushing, recovery, and letting me know everything was okay. She allowed me to be the best version of my self, channeling the strongest of energies. I felt powerful with her. I can't recommend Margaret enough!!!”

"I couldn’t have asked for a better doula than Margaret. As a first time mom, with no mom friends, I genuinely had no idea what I was doing or what to expect with both pregnancy and birth. Margaret was supportive, informed and always available to answer questions. She prepared both my husband and I so well that there were actually no surprises! I had an induction with a 24 hour labour and she never left my side once (even slept on the floor). We had a birth plan that I was comfortable with and she made sure that all the doctors and nurses stuck to it. Having her in the room took so much pressure off my husband and I as she was a constant resource when we were unsure of what the doctors were talking about. I’m so grateful that Margaret was apart of our birth journey and would 100% recommend her for any mom, first time or not!"

“Margaret was the best doula I could have hoped for during my first pregnancy! I had a lot of chaos in my life leading up to the birth of my son and when I went into labor 3 weeks early, Margaret was right by my side the entire time. From the constant support I received from her in my third trimester to being by my side throughout the entirety of my long and somewhat stressful labor, she was always one step ahead. She completely supported whatever I wanted to do and made me feel secure and at ease at all times. She stayed with me until well after the birth and helped me with the first latch as well as some tips for swaddling and transferring our baby back and forth, positioning, etc. I will never forget the amazing care that I received from her and I would work with her again in a heartbeat!”

“Prior to birth it was helpful learning how I would be supported during labor and what to expect, knowing Margaret would be there eased some anxiety around the uncertainty. During labor it was so helpful having her to assist in creating a calm environment, suggest alternative positions, and use techniques that relieved my intense back labor. My midwife was busy with other deliveries that day, so we were alone up until it was almost time to push. It was really reassuring to have Margaret there just focused on me, how my partner can help support me, and what I needed to feel more comfortable. We chose Margaret because of a combination of affordability, professionalism, and getting a good feeling from the initial consultation. We had a tighter budget and Margaret’s fee was more affordable than other doulas. I appreciated that her website was informative and professional. I liked that she was sensitive to the importance of supporting women’s mental health. Margaret was also very supportive of my birth preferences/the hypnobirthing I chose to use for labor preparation and managing pain. My biggest worries were that during labor I would be so overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious that I wouldn’t want to continue following my birth plan, or that I wouldn’t be able to relax enough for labor to progress well. I wanted to have a very calm environment and Margaret supported me with doing everything to create that kind of space. This definitely helped me feel more relaxed and lowered stress. She also provided encouragement and gave options for what might help relieve pain. I really hoped to have a positive birth experience and not to use medical interventions or medication. Luckily, I ended up having that positive experience and I’m certain Margaret being there was a huge part of that! I would highly recommend Margaret to any other parents looking to use a doula for support prior, during, and after birth.”

“Having a doula was not something that I thought about or considered until my third pregnancy. I can wholeheartedly say that it made my experience so much better than I even imagined. Margaret is kind and thoughtful and she was always available for whatever questions or concerns me or my husband had throughout my pregnancy. She was great with our other 2 kids and knew how to fit into the mix during my labor without taking over. My husband was able to focus more on how to support me which was everything for me and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing birth advocate!”
